First, a big thank you to Amazon reviewer Rotty3M for noting in her review that my newsletter sign-up doesn’t work. It’s fixed! And thank you for reading my books. I hope you enjoy them!
As you may have noticed, I have been abysmal at keeping this site updated. I will attempt to pay more attention to it, but I’ve been so focused on staying on schedule with the book releases that everything else tends to slip through the cracks. (And by everything I mean sending out my newsletter, updating my Facebook page, updating this page, eating… just kidding about that, but somedays it’s close!)
On the plus side, this means that instead of the six books I released in 2023, I have managed to stay on target with one book per month in 2024. Yay me! I wish I could write faster, but I am doing my best to ensure those pesky typos, mis-named characters, (big face palm on the whole Emma/Jemma thing in the Clowder Cats books) and other various mistakes get fixed before publication. A big thank you to my eagle-eyed readers who’ve pitched in to help.
If you do spot a type or a mistake (they happen, I’m very human) please don’t by shy – drop me an email! I truly appreciate the help and I love hearing from you.
Razzy and Rudy are as clever as ever. They take turns in providing moral support while I write, and inspiration several times a day when I’m not.
The end of 2023 and early 2024 were a difficult time for me, but all of you helped me pull through and focus on my books and the characters. As I’m sure many of you know, losing a parent is incredibly hard, especially when you’re an only child of a single mother. It always touches my heart when one of you reaches out to say my books have helped you. Well, I want to let all of you know how much you have helped me.
On a happier note…
This year saw the introduction of two new series. The Millie the Miracle Cat series, and the Siren’s Song Paranormal Cozy series. I adore all of these new characters, and as I’ve said before, I’d love to live in Timber Falls and have some tea with the quilting ladies. The response for the paranormal series has been … tepid … but I plan on at least finishing book three of the series in 2025, and perhaps continuing it. Personally, I love the genre, but I understand if many of my readers don’t. I don’t take it personally. Okay, I try not to take it personally and typically succeed. Life is too short to read books you don’t like!
(But seriously, if you haven’t checked it out, maybe take a peek. Penelope Stormbringer loves attention.)
I’ll do a separate post on what’s coming for 2025, but there will be a new series! If you’ve read the latest Clowder Cats book, Pushing up Daisies, you’ll get a sneak peek at the new cast. I’m really looking forward to exploring the lives of Finn and Briar, and of course, their human Tessa, and her friends.
Don’t worry, all the other series will be continuing! Some day, I might even write the fourth installment of the Escape from Reality series, but demand for that one has been… um… less than tepid, so it will be a while. That series will always have a special place in my heart. It was my first foray into writing, and I learned so much. I proved to myself that, hey, I can actually do this. As much as it hurts to say, I have to focus on writing the books people want to read, but I don’t think the door has closed on that series just yet. There’s still a sliver a light shining through that door. I wonder what’s on the other side…
I’m starting to ramble, so I’ll close here. If you’d like to see more blog posts like this, let me know! I hope all of you are staying safe. Know that you’re loved and appreciated.
